Who we are

Jeanne Johnston headshot

After 20+ years in the private sector, Jeanne returned to school and earned a Master’s in Public Affairs (with a concentration in community development and nonprofits). Jeanne first managed grants for a local government, researching, submitting, and overseeing federal grants totaling $6 million, which included neighborhood revitalization, housing, and brownfield development. As a successful fundraiser and grant consultant, Jeanne conducted small- to large-scale capital campaigns and economic impact studies for economic development, arts organizations, and cultural institutions, often in small towns and rural areas.

As the Founder and Lead Consultant, Jeanne found that strategic planning has been necessary for many organizations to become "grant-ready" and to establish a roadmap for all staff and board members. Jeanne's community work includes grant (prospect) research and writing for community healthcare, justice-involved youth and women, youth leadership programs, faith-based schools, programs for persons diagnosed with developmental disabilities, food insecurity, domestic violence, substance abuse, and human trafficking.

She has personally implemented various programs, including economic development, broadband, and housing, for over $4 million in awards.

"I love the impact and relationships built after working with a nonprofit to transform its mission."

Jeanne is the 6th Grant Professional in North Carolina to achieve the designation of Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute.
